Summary

This is the story of KingJiuJitsu and its founder, Professor Gregg King—a 2nd Degree Black Belt under Professor Hugo Fevrier of Tropa De Elite, and the first Armenian BJJ black belt in Canada. Gregg discovered jiu-jitsu as a bodybuilder after getting submitted by a 130-pound stripe white belt at a Good Life Fitness in North York. That moment changed everything.

He went back the next day and never stopped. After years of training and competing, he started teaching at blue belt, built an early gear and grappling brand called Veni Vidi, and eventually went all-in on running an academy.

KingJiuJitsu now operates five locations across the Greater Toronto Area: the Thornhill HQ (inside Chu's Martial Arts), Vaughan (run by Professor Dane, Gregg's first student and now a black belt), two North York locations (Budo Canada and Toronto Striking Academy), and Woodbridge (inside Matador at Hwy 7/27). The academy is IBJJF certified and is known for one of the strongest kids and teens competitive programs in Ontario. Gregg has used Gymdesk since the early days of KingJiuJitsu HQ.
