Building Community, Not Just a Gym
Steve started jiu-jitsu in 2005 after watching UFC. He fell in love with the endless learning and relationships. Jeff trained for 15 years, finding community and transformation where traditional gyms failed. Together, they built Academia with one belief: the vibe is everything.

Vibe vs. Logistics
Steve and Jeff needed software that wouldn't get in the way of the welcoming environment they'd created. They needed something intuitive enough that staff could learn it quickly and focus on teaching. The right software should amplify community, not fight it.

Gymdesk is intuitive. The interface is clean and simple. Our team spends less time learning and more time on the vibe.

Intuitive, Then Invisible
Academia BJJ chose Gymdesk because it's intuitive. Staff learn it quickly. Members see their belt rank and progress in the app. Communications happen smoothly. The software amplifies their mission instead of complicating it.

Be More Human
Academia's mission is transformation through jiu-jitsu. Not fighting. Not competition. Becoming more human—vulnerable, resilient, connected. Software should enable that, not hinder it. Gymdesk does.

Gymdesk is intuitive. The interface is clean and simple. Our team spends less time learning and more time on the vibe.
If you've got the vibe, the rest is easy. Good software gets out of the way.”
